Buses On Board Because Of Track Work

BUSES will replace a number of services on the Hunter's rail lines this weekend while RailCorp does $5.7 million worth of track work.

Buses will replace trains today and tomorrow on the Hunter line between Newcastle and Waratah, and on the Newcastle and Central Coast line from Newcastle to Central station.

A CityRail spokeswoman said passengers should allow at least an extra hour for travel on the Newcastle line and half an hour on the Hunter line.

Work on Telarah station's signalling system has been extended and buses will continue to replace trains between Telarah and Maitland until 6pm on Wednesday, March 12.
