Driver Downs Power Lines

A MAN was injured when his car struck a power pole on Maitland Road, Islington, last night.

The crash, which brought power lines down onto the road, blocked westbound traffic for almost an hour.

Police believe the driver may have lost control of his vehicle about 9pm.

He suffered minor chest injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
